Who will save the media from themselves?

It wouldn't be all bad to require all newly minted journalism grads to go out and work in the real world for a decade or so before going back to journalism. Much of the problem with journalism is a simple lack of perspective--too much focus on how things "should" be rather than reporting on how things really are and why they're the way they are.
