The Oath

“I do solemnly swear, that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to the regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice, so help me God.”

Recent events have revealed that there ARE domestic enemies of the Constitution.

Will those who have taken the oath honor it?

This nation, and the entire world, is frighteningly close to finding out.

This just in: An Update!

2,330 published (not counting this one), 701 left in draft to be (minimally) edited before publishing.

And now, a bear standing on a log:

A Bear On A Log

This is kind of a notification (or warning, if you will) that actual, real, NEW content will be coming to Soon. Well, soon-ish.

Update, July 23

No migration activity lately as you may have noticed. Got slowed down by some carpal tunnel issues. I got some wrist braces that seem to be helping a bit. So that’s the entirety of the update.

LibertyCon! Update

I’m in Chattanooga attending my fourth LibertyCon–a very odd, nice little science fiction convention. It’s odd and nice because something over half of all the attendees are authors, editors, artists, or other professionals making a living (or trying to) writing/producing science fiction–mostly literary (i.e. books/e-books).

That’s odd because most SF conventions’ attendees are overwhelmingly fans, with the authors et al being a relative minority. It’s nice because yours truly continues to have aspirations of actually getting something written up and published some day.

LibertyCon is a little convention because its bylaws cap the attendees at 750. So you basically can’t help but run into an author wherever you turn. It’s rubbing off on me, I think, but all too slowly!

Anyway, progress to this point: 2,042 posts published, 985 migrated posts to edit and re-publish here on WordPress.

Now, I go forth to conventionate once more.

Tuesday summary

1,673 published, 1,386 drafts to go. I’ve discovered that I may have inadvertently de-italicized some quotes. The extent of that problem is at present unknown. But it well and truly sucks. Oh, well, add another migration headache to the pile.

Also, there appear to be an unknown but significant number of posts in the drafts count which are pretty much blank. I hope that they don’t indicate that the migration wasn’t really complete. That would well and truly suck too.

Anyway, today’s tally is 313 posts migrated and published. Seems like around 300 per day is a good target for an average day’s work. So, with 1,386 to go, I have around five days’ work remaining with the first-cut migration tedium.

And then, we move on, perhaps to start posting the backlog of travel journals that have built up the past few years.
